I Miss You – A Poem About Change

--

The waning amber haze

Of your love

Kisses my face

As we walk by our spot for the last time

You’re so sorry

You say

You really wish it didn’t have to be this way

If that’s true

Then why are you doing this?

I can’t tell what’s colder:

The winter air,

Or my heart as you rip it to shreds

We sit on our bench and watch the sunset

I soak in the feeling of your head on my shoulder

And the scent of your skin

I will be ok

But I’ll really miss you
