Carpel Tunnel — A Poem About Love

--

I’m so tired
Of exhausting my thumbs
Writing letters
About how my day went
Asking how was yours

Every time I do this
My hands get more cramped
Their tendons and muscles
Contorted around
The only time I get to see you

But this pain
The growing numbness in my fingers
Is better than not talking to you

I’d rather clutch to a radiation box
And read text on a screen
Than never hear from you at all
